Terpenes FAQ

Terpenes are naturally forming chemicals that smell very strongly and have a long history of human use. Terpenes are a compound group of molecules that give cannabis its aroma and delicious taste. consists of a large variety of chemicals and compounds. Well over a 100 of them belong to a large class of aromatic organic hydrocarbons known as terpenes. Terpenes also have many therapeutic benefits. The Indica and Sativa effects do not come from but from the terpenes that the cannabis plant provides. Therefor terpenes are the steering wheel to your high.
During the 19th century, chemical workers working on turpentine let to the name “Terpene”. The Hydrocarbons general formula C10h16 found in that complex plant Product.
No, Terpenes itself do not contain any or . However, Terpenes can be added to products to improve the entourage effect, improve the product’s flavor profile and enhance the mood and resulting effect.
DabJuice™ prides itself on the quality and consistency of our terpenes. In order to ensure excellence, our products are derived from non-cannabis sources. Let’s say we’re trying to extract some Myrcene. We can either use cannabis or some other plant matter for our source material. Many cannabis strains, like Fire OG, do have large amounts of Myrcene. But, each time a crop is grown, that batch will have different terpene concentration from every other batch of Fire OG. This variation means that standardization of source material when using pot is almost impossible. If we use cannabis during an extraction, every final product will be slightly different. That isn’t acceptable, as our products are guaranteed 100% pure. Non-cannabis sources not only have higher certain terpenes than their cannabis counterparts but also result in stronger final products. They’re also more cost-effective to source and process. This means that we can pass on savings to customers in addition to maintaining stellar quality.
The effects of terpenes would last about 8 hours if consumed with but if taken without the effects would last about 4 to 6 hours.

Simply speaking, essential oils are made up of a combination of terpenes. These terpenes give the various oils both their smell and therapeutic properties. Essential oils are renown for their potency. But a pure collection of an individual terpene is even more powerful. Some terpenes are so effective that they can actually cause irritation if used improperly or in an excessive amount. As such, DabJuice products should be used only in a professional and safe manner.
DabJuice’ Cis beta-Ocimene terpenes are distributed in two percentage denominations: 30% and 70%. The remaining percentage of the container is filled with Trans beta-Ocimene. “Cis” and “Trans” are chemistry terms that describe isomers: compounds with the same molecular formula, but with slightly different atomic arrangements. Imagine two of the same car but painted different colors. They have the same horsepower, top speed, gas mileage, etc. They’re identical except for one key detail. Ocimene always tastes sweetly herbal, but small structural differences leave Cis with an earthy undertone relative to Trans’ light citrus tang. All our terpenes are botanically derived, rather than synthesized. In other words, we use plants to make our products, rather than chemically building terpenes in the lab. The flora we use in Ocimene extraction already has Cis and Trans within it, so we choose material higher in Trans for 30% extraction and lower in Trans for 70% production. Now, it is possible to further purify the Ocimene into having only Cis or Trans. However, the two isomers have similar mass and density, so the majority of separation processes don’t work. Advanced methods like chiral separation exist, but they require specialized equipment, are inefficient for production scaling, and have negligible results in flavor differentiation. Basically, such advanced separation techniques are slow, expensive, and not worth the effort. So, we distribute Ocimene in percentages of 30 and 70 rather than 100.
To help our customers. Mixing instructions measure substances by the gram, not the liter. Unfortunately, some people fail to consider density changes when calculating percentages. Density is how compact something is (mass) relative to how space it takes up (volume). It’s expressed as g/mL. 1 milliliter is the same as 1 gram if the material being measured is water. We are not measuring water, we are measuring terpenes. Terpenes are 0.865 g/mL relative to water’s 1 g/mL. So, if you’re buying 1 gallon (3785 milliliters) of terpenes, you are not getting 3785 grams of terpenes, you are getting 3274 grams, 511 less than a direct conversion. So, buy by the gram, or make sure to factor density into calculations.
The simple answer is yes. A more detailed one is that the cannabis plant naturally produces two groups of healing substances: and terpenes. Research has identified as responsible for many of the medicinal effects of cannabis. Terpenes are produced throughout the world as aromatic chemicals released in a wide variety of plants. Imagine the smell of a rose garden or pine forest; those are terpenes. Both and terpenes have been respectively lab certified as effective for treating certain conditions. However, when cannabinoids like are combined with terpenes, they boost each other’s effects. This mutual benefit is known as the entourage effect. Working together, they are much more powerful than they would be alone. Green Roads is one of the leading suppliers of in America, with distribution through all 50 States. Some other distributors have had trouble with pesticides and heavy metals, but Green Roads products are third-party tested to ensure purity. One of their most popular products is a -infused terpene oil. Sourced from quality ingredients, these tailor made strains provide maximum relief.

USAGE + MIXING INSTRUCTIONS FAQ

Terpenes have a large variety of uses. They are commonly found in food flavorings, perfumes, holistic medicines, and more. Please see our blog for a deeper look.
Yes. Terpenes are generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by experts and officials. However, they ABSOLUTELY SHOULD be mixed before ingestion. DabJuice™ is happy to offer assistance and advice through our Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Yes. It’s a match made in heaven. Using a combination of terpenes with actually boosts the respective therapeutic properties of both substances. They help each other work better.
With care. Make sure you take a look at the percentage and figure out how much you need. Accuracy is important, the amount you use really depends on the how much final product you want and small discrepancies can drastically alter the flavor. Measure: Use precise instruments like pipettes, graduated cylinders, and burets to ensure the exact correct amount is added. Environment: Avoid contamination by using a sterile atmosphere and clean instruments.

CONSUMPTION + SAFETY

Yes, they are we receive them as food grade and then distilled them multiple times so they are analytical grade. Far beyond food grade.
Anything is dangerous in a large enough quantity, but terpenes are generally recognized as safe (GRAS) and common in numerous food products. However, don’t kill the flavor of your mixture by adding too much of something. Depending on what particular characteristics are desired, some terpenes will be used in smaller amounts than others. For best results, start mixture with small percentages and incremental increases based on preference. Like all chemicals, these terpenes should be handled in a professional atmosphere.
Yes, the vials that we use are hi quality glass and certified. They also offer protection from UV rays due to the amber glass that we use.

QUALITY CONTROL FAQ

One word, Organic. We source our terpenes from natural and organic sources whenever possible. We take these natural terpenes into our ISO certified lab and re-distill them using molecular distillation to achieve a higher potency similar to synthetic terpenes, but without the possibility of un-natural stereo-chemistry associated with synthetically produced compounds. We then formulate our terpenes in a brand new clean room with state of art air filtration. We put a lot of work into sourcing and purifying our terpenes and know we offer the best terpenes on the market and we want to share that with our fellow manufacturers
Our adherence to quality begins with the absolute best starting materials. DabJuice™ Terpenes are all completely organic terpenes and terpenoids sourced from plants found all around the world and distilled multiple times to achieve the absolute best quality. Our terpenes are 100% free of fillers like PG, VG, MCT, and coconut oil. No added fillers equate to low-dose and high-potency. Additionally, our terpenes and terpene strain profiles are certified for being solvent-less, natural, organic, GMO-free, filler-free, and food grade. Ensuring against cross-contamination or adulteration, all our products are produced in an ISO certified facility in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). Thus, we will not offer them for sale until we know they are a perfect fit.
NO! Terpenes degrade plastic, resulting in a horrible taste. Glass is the very best for substance vials and cartridges.
